It’s a brand-new year and with a new start many people are making health goals right now. It’s great to have health goals. The problem is statistics show most people do not stick to them. This blog is not about helping you stick to your goals. I can’t help you stick to your goals. That has to come from within yourself. I’d like to introduce you to a different mindset to help you.
Wandering
You can wander into being unhealthy. It’s easy to lose track of time, get too busy, or simply just forget to be healthy. This is very easy to do. So many times, I’ll ask patients about exercise, and they say I’ve been meaning to get back to the gym, but it’s been over 6 months since I’ve been there! It’s comparable to finances. It’s very easy to overspend, use credit cards, borrow money and one day you wake up and find yourself in serious debt. You wandered into debt. Getting out of debt or getting healthy has to be INTENTIONAL! You cannot wander into health.
Be Intentional
You cannot go on autopilot and expect to have a healthier year this year. You have to be intentional. Go out of your way and make the mental effort to make better decisions. Decide to go to the gym, decide to keep your chiropractic appointments, schedule your bedtime and stick to it! Be the kind of person who commits to being healthy and actually does it. Keep your health front and center every single day to ensure you are making better choices.
Remember, if your health fails you, how good will the rest of your life be? Based on my experiences of working with thousands of patients, trust me, health truly is your #1 asset. Take care of it like your life depends on it, because it does!
