Elbow pain relief has become a very common reason people are seeking Chiropractic care. In my office, most cases of elbow pain are directly related to cell phone and tablet usage. The position our hand, wrist and elbow are in while using these devices creates problems.
The constant flexion of the wrist and elbows creates tightness on one side of the forearm and weakness on the other. this muscle imbalance leads to pain and dysfunction. In the video above I show a stretch to loosen the flexor side and an exercise to strengthen the extensors. Being diligent with these two exercises will greatly improve your elbows. These are exercises that should be done not only when you are having pain, but even when you feel good! Prevention is the key!
Chiropractic and Elbow Pain
When I work with patients that have elbow pain I teach them the above exercises in the video. We also look at how the wrist, elbow and shoulder joint are moving. If there are restrictions in movement we work to correct that. It is important to see a chiropractor if you are doing these two exercises, but still experiencing pain.
