Lincolnwood is Home

It has been 8 weeks since we moved to our new location at 6443 N Cicero Ave in Lincolnwood. Lincolnwood is home! It has been such a great experience here in the new office. The feedback from patients has been great and everyone is feeling right at home.

Ia gain wanted to thank everyone for their patience during this transition. We will be having another transition here in the office in 2 weeks. Don’t worry, we are not moving again!! Our office software which handles all of our scheduling, insurance billing and payment processing is changing. We do not anticipate any issues during this transitions, but if any do arise please be patient with us. The most important thing you can do that would help us is to ensure all of your information is up to date with Elisha. Make sure we have the correct insurance information, your address, email address and cell phone number.

Why the Change?

We are striving to make our office more papeless and environmental friendly. You will notice that we will no longer have sign in sheets, you will now be checking-in on an ipad at the front desk each time you come in. We will now be able to communicate directly with you via text message. There are a lot of great changes with this new software and I am sure you will love it just as much as we do!

Chiropractor Talks Bowel Movements

Let’s talk about poop. You may think its weird that a chiropractor talks bowel movements, but it actually comes up often in my office. In particular, I have two stories I’d like to share with you. One is about a 3 month old baby and the other is about a man in his fifties. Both stories involve poop so follow along with me.

Chiropractic and Babies

Earlier this month a mother brought in her 3 month old baby because the baby was having a lot of gas and was only having a bowel movement once every five days. After some questioning I learned this mother was already doing an AWESOME job. The baby was still nursing, the mom had been doing belly massages for the baby, the mom even changed her diet to see if it would help the baby and still no changes. I examined the baby and found some areas of the spine that did not have the movement they should. I did some very light, specific adjustments and sent them on their way. The next week when they returned the mom informed me the baby had 3 bowel movements in one week! That is a huge improvement! No on should only be pooping once every five days, especially a 3 month old baby. I am continuing to work with this wonderful family to get the baby fully back to 100%.

Chiropractic and Older Men

A man I’ve been adjusting for many years who is in overall good health came in complaining of not having a bowel movement in 4 days along with some mild low back pain which was a new complaint for him. After I examined him I found subluxations in his middle to lower spine. I adjusted those areas which do send nerves to the stomach. We had a great adjustment which resulted in a lot of spinal movement. That movement took pressure off the nerves allowing his stomach and digestive organs to work normally.

Later in the day he emailed to say 20 minutes after he left he was on the toilet pooping!

Conclusion

I am not telling you these stories to make myself sound like a hero. The truth is far from that. I’m just the guide in these stories. The two individuals healed themselves once we removed the interference to their bodies. The human body is designed to work perfectly and in a healthy way. When there is interference to these systems in the form of subluxations (spinal mis-alignments) the body does not work as it is designed.

It is official! Our office is officially located in Lincolnwood now and I am a Lincolnwood Chiropractor! All that really means is that the great service you have been receiving 4 blocks south in Sauganash is now being offered in Lincolnwood.

Thank you for all of your patience during this time as we were packing up the old office and also as we have been settling into the new office. The first thing you will notice when you come into our new space is the layout and the energy is much different. We now have an open layout office which allows for shorter wait times for you! I have always prided myself on having an office that sees patients on time at their scheduled time.

Location

We are still on Cicero Ave, 4 blocks North of our old location. Our new address is 6443 N Cicero Ave which is just north of Devon.

We have been open a full week now and have seen a lot of our patients for adjustments in this time! If you haven’t been in to the new space yet, come on in and take a look. I’d love to show you around!

We Are Moving

We Are Moving

I am excited to announce that we are moving ! We are moving 4 blocks north. From 6015 N Cicero Ave to 6443 N Cicero Ave. We are on the same side of the street as we currently are. The biggest difference is we will now have PARKING!

We have been at our current space in Sauganash since 2008. We will now be located in Lincolnwood, IL. I look forward to still serving Sauganash, Lincolnwood, Evanston, Skokie and the surrounding neighborhoods in Chicago.

As our buildout progresses and we have an exact date of when we will begin seeing patients in the new office I will keep you posted. Please watch us on Social media, in-office announcements, and our email newsletter for future updates!

Inflammation and Health

One of the secrets to having better health is to control the inflammation levels in your body. If you are curious to know more about Inflammation and health please read on.

Many of the diseases of aging are associated with inflammation. Arthritis, cancer, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and alzheimers to name a few. All of these nasty conditions and more have a link to high levels of inflammation in the body. A recent study showed that taking MRI’s of people without back pain revealed that 80% of people have a bulging disc in their lower spine, but have no symptoms. How come then some people have a bulging disc and have debilitating pain? It has to do with the levels of inflammation in the body. Keeping these levels down will help you to live longer, healthier, happier and more pain free.

Here are my top 4 ways to keep inflammation levels down.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Misalignments in the spine called subluxations lead to negative changes in the body. Negative changes are interpreted to be stress by the body. Long term chronic stress means your body is less sensitive to cortisol (an antinflammatory hormone). This leads to more inflammation and less health.

Healthy Diet

Diet plays a large role when it comes to inflammation and health. Diets high in sugar, simple carbohydrates and alcohol all promote inflammation. By working to eliminate these items you can lower levels of inflammation immediately!

Supplementation

There are supplmenets which help to lower inflammation naturally. OTC and prescription meds can lower inflammation, think advil, but are not recommended for long-term use. Even OTC medications have negative side effects. Natural antiinflammatories are just as effective, if not more so with no side effects. Ginger, curcumin and tumeric are very powerful. My favorite product and what I take everyday can be found here.

Breathe

Oxygen helps to control inflammation. The most essential structure for humans to survive, and most of us walk around without ever taking a deep breath. Take a minute or ten and just breathe deeply into your belly. Make this a regular, daily routine and you will notice less aches and pains and more energy immediately.

Conclusion

Control your inflammation levels with these 4 techniques above and you will enjoy much better health. You will feel better, have more energy and ward off the diseases of aging.
